FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does the orchestra rehearse and perform?

Most of our events take place a Bethel Congregational Church, UCC. 536 N Euclid Ave., Ontario CA 91762. Sometimes we use an alternative venue - if that happens we always provide the info on our website, FB page, in emails, posters, etc...

When are the rehearsals?

Rehearsals are generally on Saturday mornings from 9:30 am - 12 noon. Each set of rehearsals is announced, and we usually have a short break right after a concert.

I heard you have a chorus - can I join the chorus instead of the orchestra?

Yes. The SSO Chorus rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7pm at Bethel Congregational Church. Check the chorus website for more information: http://ssochorus.com Join by sending an email to drmann@southlandsymphony.com. Include some info about your experience, and be sure to include your contact information!

How can I join the orchestra?

Send an email to drmann@southlandsymphony.com. Include some info about your musical background (a resume if you have one), and be sure to include your contact information. We usually have opening in the strings at all times. Wind positions may not be immediately available, since most wind parts are only 1 player per part in a symphony orchestra. But if you play a wind instrument, please inquire anyway - we may have a spot for you!
